has been expanded to cover eight civilizations—ancient Egypt, ancient
Mesopotamia, ancient Greece, ancient Rome, ancient and medieval Africa,
medieval Europe, the Americas, and ancient and medieval Asia. Users can
research each civilization in depth or use the browse feature to
conduct comparative studies of events and developments across
civilizations. This expansive database offers an unprecedented amount
of information about these civilizations and their places in history,
with content drawn from Facts On File’s acclaimed print references.
With thousands of carefully selected entries covering prehistory
through the 1500s, this redesigned online database features a
user-friendly interface, increased functionality, new content, and
Learning Centers that pull forward specially selected entries and
related topics to encourage easy research. Other helpful features
include many new primary sources, as well as new images, new and
updated maps, and a timeline that can be viewed through the Learning
