Dr David J. Jones is one of Australia's best-known writers on libraries and librarianship. His other books include histories of the State Library of New South Wales and of Pustaka Negeri Sarawak in Malaysia. With Jean P Whyte, he wrote 'Uniting a Profession', a history of the Australian Library & Information Association's forerunner, the Australian Institute of Librarians. David works at the State Library of New South Wales and is an internationally-recognised library building consultant. He was awarded ALIA's Fellowship in 2003.
