The NBK is organised alphabetically in unit letter volumes. Each volume contains an Index that is cross-referenced to the entire cxontents of the set. Blue paper is used for the Index pages so that they can be easily identified. Articles and Index entries are arranged inalphabetical order, letter by letter to the comman, ignoring hierarchical orders. In addition, there is extensive use of "See also" references following articles.
