Based in the same scriptures as both Judaism and Christianity, Islam has many similarities with the major Western religions. Even so, in the post-9/11 world, Islam remains one of the world's most misunderstood faiths. In the current climate of terrorism and fear, it is more important than ever for non-Muslims to learn to understand the religion founded by the prophet Muhammad.
